As we were on the train to Bucharest, it started raining heavily. After a while, we received an emergency alert on our phones advising people to avoid being outdoors and instead seek shelter inside. So we spent the few hours we had in Bucharest solving crossword puzzles at the train station and having dinner at a rooftop bar with a view over the city 😍

Around 10:30 p.m., we headed to the bus station where we were supposed to take a night bus to Sofia in Bulgaria. The journey went really well, but it was very hot on the bus! By mistake, the driver had turned on the heater instead of the air conditioning 😂 Let’s just say he was firmly told off by an Australian fellow passenger!

We were originally supposed to arrive at 7 a.m., but the journey went quickly and we arrived a little after six. We relaxed for a bit and had some breakfast before signing up for a Trabant sightseeing tour at ten. It was a fun experience, and we got to see a lot of the city.

At 5:30 p.m., we were supposed to take the bus on to Skopje, North Macedonia.
